From Whistler to Cape Town to Buenos Aires and everywhere in between, you will find Australians in every country throughout the world. It’s an unusual trend considering that Australia’s population is only 20 million, but it is an undeniable fact that Australians love to embrace other cultures and continents.
Growing up in Australia, I was well aware that traveling was in my blood. It was my birthright and a rite of passage to adulthood. The fact that I am now a Canadian citizen living in Vancouver is no great surprise to my family, who are all rather pleased to add another international destination to their travel lists.
When my sister had her first child (in Australia) last year I was concerned that her traveling days were over: was she really willing to travel such a long distance with hubby and bubby? Plain and simple, the answer was no. As much as she loves to travel, she is also a creature of comfort, and packing the Bugaboo stroller, the pack and play, and endless toys was definitely not appealing. On one of my visits home late last year, sister dear complained that the family had been on five local trips in six months and she couldn’t stomach the idea of even heading to the family beach house. My stomached flipped: was I seriously going to miss out on my nephew growing up because of baby equipment hassles?
The answer was so simple and so clear. It hit me like a tonne of bricks on the flight home. I was to leave my well-paid film production job and start a baby equipment rental company in Vancouver. I would only purchase high-end equipment, the kind that my family would be happy to use (such as the all expensive Bugaboo stroller) and I would select items that were both stylish and practical. And so the birth of Petite Passengers Baby Equipment Rentals…
Although there are one or two other baby equipment rental companies in Vancouver, it has not been difficult for Petite Passengers to stand out. My attention to detail has always been impeccable, and having worked in film for the past seven years, I am very much accustomed to long and irregular work days. I enjoy impressing customers with both the presentation of our baby gear and also our flexible and reliable delivery schedules. It feels great to receive such positive feedback and I really enjoy surprising customers by going that extra mile.
Sister dear also paid me a “surprise” visit a few months back. I went to the airport to pick up my parents for their two week vacation and was completely dumb-founded to see my sister and little blondey toddling along. He was here for both his first birthday and his first word (“wa-wa” meaning “he-llo”) and of course he put all of Petite Passenger’s equipment to the test.
If you would like to put our baby gear to the test please feel free to contact us at Petite Passengers Baby Equipment Rentals on 604 780 9914 or www.petitepassengers.com
I love that quote…

It is so true, is the most important aspect of creating a long term asset.
